I chose to use natural cardboard, a high-quality natural paper that is approximately 0.2 mm thick. This paper is uncoated, which allows for a natural feel and texture while also providing a sturdy and durable base for the cards.
To add an extra element of beauty and elegance to each card, I decided to use foil embossing. This technique involves stamping a design onto the paper using a heated foil, resulting in a shiny, metallic effect.
It was a conscious choice to avoid using an artificial coating on the paper, as I wanted to preserve the natural feel and texture of the uncoated cardboard. This means that the cards may have small irregularities due to the natural paper fibers, similar to unbleached recycling papers.
